Anissa has been here at Roseland Animal Hospital and has been with us since 2016. She was born and raised here in sunny Sebastian, Florida. She has been in the animal field since 2013 from kennel to grooming & boarding to now animal medicine. She shares a house hold with her Husband, her 3 dogs & 3 cats. Her love of animals started when she was about 5 years old with her bunny slipper that she would never wear then and rather take care of them & that’s when she realized she wanted to care for animals when she grow up. On her free time, Anissa loves to jet skiing, going to the Disney and hanging with friends.
My fascination with animals started at a young age on my grandfather's horse ranch. In college I worked with snakes at a venom lab. After college I worked with big cats and bears at a refuge, before working at 3 different zoos with a wide array of animals including Komodo dragon, hippo, and penguins. Eventually I became specialized in training large African hoofstock (Rhino, Giraffe, antelope). Finally I got to work with and train Asian Elephants. After that I retired from zookeeping and became a vet tech. In my free time I have been lucky enough to swim with some amazing wild animals including: sea turtles (3 species), sea lions, marine iguanas, Galapagos penguins and Whale Sharks!
